M. Nooshin Hashemzadeh, PhD

Dr. Hashemzadeh holds a Ph.D. in Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry and completed her postdoctoral training in Medicinal Chemistry/Biological Chemistry at the University of California Irvine (UCI). She was later appointed as a faculty at UCI. She then worked as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Whittier College. In 2007, she moved to Tucson and joined the University of Arizona’s Sarver Heart Center as research scientist and later joined Pima College as an adjunct faculty in the department of Chemistry. During her academic career she has been involved in many clinical and basic science research projects leading to numerous publications. She has been presenter at national and international scientific meetings. In 2019 she joined University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix and has been great mentor to undergraduate and medical students for performing research at Pima College and College of Medicine at the University of Arizona.

Furthermore, she is a successful entrepreneur. She is the CEO of La Vie Derma, LLC, which is a company based on creating organic skincare natural products that was founded in 2015. Their products utilize organic and natural ingredients to deliver optimal results without the use of synthetic chemicals. First successful organic and natural insect repellent named Repousser was launched in 2017. “I love seeing the compounds come together as safe and natural skin care products,” she says.

Dr. Hashemzadeh has been extensively involved in community volunteer work. She won the People’s Choice Award at the Dancing with Our Stars for the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona in 2019. She was the Chair of the 2020 Tucson Heart and Stroke Ball leading to record-breaking fundraising for the American Heart Association in Tucson. She is a member of Angel Charity for

Children, Inc., and supporter of 100+ Women Who Care Tucson, American Heart and Stroke Association, Southern Arizona Diaper Bank, National Association of Women in Business, IMPACT of Southern Arizona, and many others.
