Amir Qorbani, MD
Amir Qorbani, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he serves as the Director of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology. He is also an active member of the UCSF Sarcoma Team, the Digital and Computational Pathology Advisory Committee (DCPAC), and the Pathology Quality Improvement Committee.
Dr. Qorbani earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences. He began his pathology residency at Tehran University of Medical Sciences before relocating to the United States, where he completed his residency at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). He then pursued a fellowship in Surgical Pathology with a focus on Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In 2019, he joined the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) as a faculty member.
His clinical and academic interests include bone and soft tissue tumors (sarcomas), along with medical education, digital pathology, and the integration of artificial intelligence into diagnostic practice. Dr. Qorbani is committed to advancing precision in sarcoma diagnosis and contributing to the evolution of computational pathology.
Outside of medicine, he is passionate about entrepreneurship, real estate, and sports.
