Event Description

ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE IN IRAN AND ANOTHER CALL FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE: December 1, 2017 - It is with my great sadness to let you know that Iran was hit by another earthquake last night. The earthquake was of 6.3 magnitude, in southeast part of Iran close to the city of Kerman. We are now anxiously following the news for more updates. We have not yet come over the previous devastating earthquake in west part of Iran, that happened 2 weeks ago, killed more than 500 people and left at least 15,000 people injured. IAMA has many years’ experience of working with the NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) groups in Iran with immediate help and also long term infrastructural projects such as building a Medical Center in Bam after the catastrophic earthquake in Bam in 2003 and also establishing educational trips to Iran on volunteer basis and independent of any governmental involvements. We have all the necessary permits to carry out our humanitarian missions when disasters strike. We are one of the few Iranian American nonprofit organizations that has an OFAC license for transferring funds to Iran, through the local NGO groups. Your donation strengthens our teams’ ability to respond effectively and provide a critical lifeline to so many people in their most desperate time of need. Please, make a donation to our Disaster Relief Fund today, and help us fulfill our humanitarian pledge constructively. You may make your donation by writing a check payable to the Iranian American Medical Association (IAMA) for the Disaster Relief Fund of Iran and send it to the address below: Iranian American Medical Association PO Box 8218 Haledon, NJ. 07538 On those rare occasions when donations exceed IAMAs expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters, without any administrative fees. Please, be advised that we are currently renewing our website design, which will be launched in the next 5-10 days. As we currently do not have an Official Social Media account setup, we are working on building an effective official Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. We will notify you of this project through our website. On behalf of those we serve through our humanitarian mission, thank you. Once again thank you for your generous donation to IAMA. Sincerely, Dr. Hosein Shokouh-Amiri IAMA- President
